Right then, down to more serious matters, that being the matter of who is this year's Premier League Picks Champ !!
First of all, a huge thank you to everybody who participated, you are the heart and soul of this comp and I've really enjoyed the WhatsApp banter this year, not to mention all of the other messages and emails I see bouncing around throughout the season, mostly good natured insults it has to be said, but we all give as good as we get and particularly for you Spurs fans, congratulations on finally getting the last laugh (and allowing Wolves to finish above you.................I think it's a win-win ??).
If you cast your minds back to the start of the season, we not only asked you to predict who you thought would finish top / bottom 3, we also threw in a few random bonus questions, all worth 2 points and here are the results:-
Top 3 - Liverpool, Arsenal, Man City
Bottom 3 - Southampton, Leicester, Ipswich
Most Red Cards - Arsenal
Team who finished 10th - Brentford
Most corners taken - Manchester City
There were a total of 18 extra points up for grabs here and although nobody managed them all, Eli, Kurtis, Mike and Zane topped the bonus point table with 12 points each, so well done to you.Â
In the end, I'm happy to say that although the bonus points gave all of our numbers a welcome boost, it didn't really affect our 3 winners, all of whom have done an amazing job of predicting results week in, week out which is exactly what this comp is all about, so with that in mind, would you all please stand and join me as we congratulate this years winners ...........................
In 3rd place, with 229 points Mr Simon Bell.
In 2nd place, with 233 points, Mr Eli Gray-Stuart
Our winner, with a net busting 238 points, Picks Champ 2024/25.............Mr Rob Shortall
Total Prize Pot - $1880 - to be split between the aforementioned Top 3.
Well done everybody, see exactly where you finished by checking out the league table on the website (link below), which brings me to one last thank you, that being to Mr Liam Ennis, who puts in an extraordinary amount of work in the background, bringing all of the weekly results together and presenting them beautifully on the website...............thanks dude .................. you're alright for a Villa fan !?

I'll be in touch mid-end of July regarding next years comp, remember, ...... the more the merrier, so if you know anybody who might be interested in joining our merry comp, feel free to forward the invite to them when it comes out and if you have any ideas around how we can improve the comp, don't hesitate to let me know.
In the meantime, look after yourselves and try not to be too depressed about the fact we have no football to watch....................I guess I should go and re-introduce myself to my wife and kids now !!
