Matchweek 15........what the actual !! I've not seen such a low scoring week....like ever......or as Tay Tay would say.......ever, ever !!
Liverpool decided it was too windy, or cold, or whatever, to even play............there must have been a Christmas car-boot on, or maybe someone selling knock off perfume on Stanley Park, nevertheless, we will await our one point (at least those of us who picked Liverpool).
Anyhow, the rest of the country managed to get a game on and boy, did it turn out some interesting results........working back to front and completely unsurprisingly and equally as uninteresting (I'm not even going to mention the ref.......) was West Ham's win over Wolves in the game nicknamed 'El Sackio' (for the uninitiated, a take on the El Classico between Barcelona and Real Madrid and because both managers are as shite as each other and the losing manager will most probably get the sack, although as nobody else wants to manage Wolves and Worst Ham won, nobody will get sacked.......at least not until next week. You're welcome for the mansplain by the way).........West Ham 2 (Championship winners 2025/26 Wolves 1). Interesting fact for those who are interested, there are only x2 teams to ever relegate themselves from top flight to 4th division in consecutive seasons.......twice. Wolves are unsurprisingly one, Swindon Town are the other, maybe Wolves are looking to be the only team to do this 3 times..............I would be so bloody proud.
Not very weird and probably the results most of us picked were Villa's 1-0 (lucky) victory over the poor Saints, The Cherries 2-1 win over The Tractor Boys and although one or two won't agree, but certainly for the neutral, the game of the week, Chelsea's repeat of last year's 4-3 victory over Spurs.
Elsewhere, possibly as frustrating as being a Spurs fan, Newcastle were left blushing after a 4-2 annihilation by The Bees, making the Gtech Community Stadium one of the fortresses of the league, Man City's woes continued following their 2-2 draw with Palace, (my new prem team if Wolves go down) Notts Forest stuck it to Man Utd 3-2, Chris Wood yet again showing his pedigree with his 10th goal of the season. Another favourite of mine this season Fulham, were unlucky to draw 1-1 against Arsenal, as were Leicester with their 2-2 draw vs The Seagulls, although you could say the Foxes were the lucky ones having been 2-0 down after 86 minutes when old Steptoe himself Jamie Vardie hit the net and then assisted for their winner one minute into extra time and that just about rounds us up.
One of the lowest scoring weeks I've ever seen in this comp, with 3 or 4 as standard, however, a few impressive 5 pointers from Thomas, Watto and Chris, in Chris's case a result that propels him into second place on the table, however, this week, there can be only one and that man knocked out a unbelievable 6 pointer, so please (if you are able), stand and join me in rapturous applause for this week's legend, Mr Mike Aspey............well done fella, we salute you !!!
Matchweek 16 kicks off on Sunday morning, so picks in by Saturday night please folks. As the Christmas fixtures start to come thick and fast, we are planning on putting out the fixtures in advance, so you can all focus on getting drunk, watch this space.

Unfortunately, I wasn't born in London or the North West to justify supporting anybody else and the only other choices were Stoke City or Aston Villa........yuck.
