Matchday 19 and in sharp contrast to the previous week, all games finished with 22 players on the pitch, but some things don't change, specifically Man Utd failing to win once again, this week losing 2-0 (at home) to Newcastle. It was also a case of win and repeat for Liverpool, this week smashing The Hammers 5-0, also The Gunners in their second win in as many weeks, this time away to Brentford, final score 3-1.
Spurs hosted the mighty Wolves and despite the best efforts of the league's biggest, dirty, diving cheat (not to mention darts fan it seems) Brennan Johnson, were sent packing back to the capital with just one point shared, courtesy of their 2-2 draw.
2-2 draws also for Fulham in their game against The Cherries also a brace a piece for Villa and the Seagulls of Brighton.
Man City finally managed a win, 2-0 away to The Foxes and The Tractor boys also bagged an unanswered brace in their first home win of the season, a surprise victory against high flying Chelsea. 2-0 was also the winning result this week for Nuno's Notts Forest, as they took all 3 points back to the East Midlands after their trip to Goodison, home of The Toffees.
Finally, hopeless Southampton lost yet again, this week 2-1 to Crystal Palace and that just about wraps things up, at least as far as the roundup's are concerned.
As far as our comp goes, a slightly higher average this week, plenty of six pointers, but victory once again comes in the shape of number 7 and no less than 5 of you managed it, so please raise your glasses and join me in congratulations to this weeks winners (in no particular order), John, Eli, Richie, Leon and last, but by no means least, our 2025 current table topper, Paul. Well done fella's, we salute you !!
Here's how our top 5 looks and it's starting to thin out a little, but still very close and all to play for.
Check out the website (link below) for the full leaderboard and for those of you who haven't put your picks in yet for matchday 20, it kicks off tomorrow morning, so chop, chop !!
