Matchweek 26 was going sweetly (for me and Ricki anyhow), 5 out of 5 and then West Ham arrived at The Emirates to face up against The Gunners, every single one of us (even our own West Ham fan who will remain nameless) went for Arsenal or the draw and would you believe it, Potters Hammers got the win, 1-0, courtesy of the main man himself, Jarrod Bowen, with a beautiful diving header.
Liverpool will already be having their name etched on the trophy and with their 2-0 away win to current champions Man City in the bag, can anybody realistically catch them ??
The week started off with The Bees thumping Ruud's Foxes 4-0 in their own backyard. Next up, in form Everton vs very out of form Man Utd, Everton not quite good enough to win, Man Utd not quite bad enough to lose, so obviously a draw, ain't that right Ricki (and 9 others who correctly picked the draw), 2-2 final score.
Next came the mighty Wanderers vs the in-form Cherries and would you Adam and Eve it, Wolves got the win, 1-0, 4 points ahead of the bottom 3. OK, we were up against 10 men for most of the game, but 3 points in the bag, our most important win of the season and possibly (hopefully) the result that guarantees us Premier League football again next year!
Spurs thumped The Tractor Boys 4-1 away, The Seagulls put 4 unanswered on Championship fodder Southampton and in a 7 goal thriller, The Toon Army sent Nuno's Notts Forest back to the East Midlands with their tail between their legs, as they took all 3 points with a 4-3 victory.
Palace took the kudos in another London derby game against Fulham, courtesy of their 2-0 win and finally, the Villa only went and tonked Chelsea, coming back to win 2-1 and in their matchday 29 game against Liverpool brought forward from matchday 29, they went and grabbed a well earned point in a 2-2 draw............. UP THE VEEEEEELA !!!!!
A few surprises dished out this matchweek, victories for Wolves, Crystal Palace and of course West Ham tripping most up, not to mention the Toffees draw against Man Utd, but kudos to Harry and Callum this week who both managed a very respectable 7 points. Nobody managed 8 but massive congratulations to this week's winner, who only missed out on a 20 pointer courtesy of Arsenal losing, but 9 points all the same, so please join me in rapturous applause for Ricki, unlucky mate..............but congratulations all the same, excellent work !!
