Matchweek 27 and thank you slab-head, the last thing we needed was Ipswich Town with a point, not to mention 3. Man Utd 3, Ipswich Town 2............PHEW !!
With Southampton failing to score again and furthermore, allowing Chelsea to score x4 times, I think it's fair to say, their fate is sealed and as Ruud's Foxes went down 2-0 to a resurgent West Ham 2-0, along with Ipswich, these 3 are looking likely to be the worst performing bottom 3 of the premier league era.
Elsewhere, namely at the other end of the league table, Liverpool took another giant stride towards the title with their 2-0 demolition of 'none too shabby' Newcastle. In the ongoing play off for second place, Forest hosted The Gunners at Nottingham's City Ground, only for the game to finish all square at nil a piece, a result that leaves Forest 6 points adrift in third place, one point ahead of Man City, who scraped a 1-0 victory against Spurs.
In the battle of the seasiders, The Seagulls came out on top in their 2-1 win against The Cherries and over in the capital, The Eagles ripped Villa a new one in their 4-1 tonking. Adama Traore came back to Molineux to terrorise former employer Wolves with his fellow Cottagers, Fulham taking the win 2-1 and finally, Everton's 'not getting beat streak' continued, as they came back to draw 1-1 at the Gtech against The Bees.
As far as out comp goes, kudos to 'usual suspects' Simon & Rob, joined this week by Noodle, all with 7 points, but victory this week required 8 points and only one man hit the mark, so please stand up and take a bow Irish aka Gabe McQueen, only let down by those bloody scousers and of course, bloody Wolves........lovely job mate, we salute you !!!!
