Good afternoon pickers, I hope this email finds you all well.
Firstly, let's get one thing straight, Wolves are joint 19th, NOT bottom of the league, it's just the alphabet making us look bad and Everton being equally crap.
Moving swiftly on..........two distinct sets of results for you this week, your team either drew, or you won or lost depending on whether or not your team managed to score 3 goals.
Draws first of all and the newly promoted teams, namely The Saints, Tractor Boys and Foxes all finished up 1-1, the latter against the hapless Toffees who once again took the lead, only to throw it away in the final quarter of the game. If Sean Dyche had hair he'd be losing it as quickly as his voice?!
Forest took a point back to the East Midlands following their trip to the seaside, courtesy of their 2-2 draw against The Seagulls, as did Man U after an uneventful no score draw against Crystal Palace down at Selhurst Park and finally in the world of draws, 'unlucky' (or were they cheated !!) Arsenal hung on to their 2-1 scoreline with 10 men for almost an entire half before the referee forgot to blow his whistle and John Stones scored the equaliser in the 98th minute, the game finishing up 2-2.
Trossard's sending off for kicking the ball away would have been a bit harsh, but the fact he went straight through the back of the dude 5 seconds prior, probably didn't do his case much good...........silly boy all the same, undoubtedly cost his team the game as Arsenal had it all under control and if I were a betting man, would say they look like serious contenders for the title this year................we shall see !!
Elsewhere, 3-1 victories for Villa, Spurs & Fulham, the first two having originally gone down 1-0 to Wolves & Brentford respectively, only to both do 'an Everton' and The Cottagers grabbing all 3 points against high flying Newcastle. Liverpool & Chelsea both also hit their opponents for 3 but were unanswered against Bournemouth and West Ham with convincing 3-0 victories.
Onto the most important result of the week and with so many draws, it was extremely unlikely we would get close to a full house, but as we often say in this comp "he/she who dares (to pick the draws) wins" and in the case of this weeks winners, that is most definitely the case, so please join me in rapturous applause for this weeks winners, Craig, Doug and Jake, all of whom successfully predicted 3 draws a piece and bagged themselves 7 points............lovely work boys !!
Not much change on the leaderboard, other than to say Callum, they're coming for ya mate !!!
I'll flick through the link for this coming week's fixtures shortly, otherwise, find it on the website later this evening.
